Flying time from Australia to Bali’s Denpasar Airport is minimal. From Perth, holiday goers can expect to be in Bali in under four hours, and from Cairns in just 4.5 hours. From Brisbane. Virgin Australia flies to Bali every day of the week. The airline offers two flights Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Jetstar flies four times a week on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
From Cairns. Jetstar’s three weekly flights depart late in the evening every Sunday, Thursday and Friday.
From Darwin. Air Asia and Jetstar fly to Bali from Darwin. Jetstar’s flights depart every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Air Asia flights operate Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Peak and off season. When to get the best deal
Bali is a year round destination, so the best time to visit may depend on your own preference. But taking peak and off-peak travel periods into consideration may influence when to book and when to travel. Australian’s make up a large portion of tourists on the idyllic island, so not surprisingly, the busiest time to travel to Bali is over the school holiday periods, especially during July/August and over Christmas and New Year’s.
Bali is mostly a leisure destination, so there are always cheap airfares to be found, especially on the low-fare airlines. Compare prices with each of the airlines flying to Bali, and consider travelling on a weekday when fares are usually lower. If travelling in the peak school holiday periods, booking in advance is another way to secure lower fares. Generally, the closer the date to departure, the higher the fares, so plan ahead if possible.
Getting to and leaving the airport
Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is located less than 3 km south of Kuta, one of Bali’s busiest and most popular tourist areas. Just north of Kuta, Seminyak can be reached via Sunset Road with a travel time of about 25 minutes. Nusa Dua, on the southern peninsula’s east coast is about 14km away from the airport and a 25 minute drive when taking the Mandara Toll Road Bridge.
Taxis and private cars are the quickest and most convenient ways to get to and from the airport. Upon arrival, taxis are located outside the Arrivals area. The fixed rate depends on the destination. The airport provides a convenient price guide on their Transportation page.
Car rentals are also available in the Arrivals Hall. Rental companies located at Bali’s airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.

Denpasar (Bali) Airport Facilities & Services
There are two terminals at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali. The newest L shaped addition to the airport houses the International Terminal which features 10 aircraft gates. Just a short walk across Festival Plaza is the Domestic Terminal with a total of 8 gate lounges. The airport also utilizes buses to transfer passengers to aircraft parked away from the two terminal buildings.
