Peak and off season. When to get the best deal
Sydney remains Australia’s number one destination for both domestic and international travel. With this level of demand, travellers can expect to find low fares throughout the year. There are however peak times when sale prices or saver fares are less common. Weekday morning flights, especially those between Sydney and other capital cities are usually more expensive due to the high demand for business travel and international connections. With some forward planning however, low fares can usually be found in advance of travel. While Friday and Sunday evenings are also peak travel periods, other days of the week generate lower evening fares.
Getting to and leaving the airport
Sydney Airport is located approximately 8km south of the CBD, just off the M1. Taxis in Sydney are plentiful and easy to hail, with fares from the city centre costing approximately $50. Another convenient method of transport is by train. Airport Link connects the city and suburbs with the Domestic and International Terminals. The perfect way to beat the busy Sydney traffic, travel time between the airport and the CBD takes less than 15 minutes. For a small fee, arriving passengers can also use the Airport Link to transfer between the Domestic and International Terminals.

Sydney Airport offers 4 carparks. Just a 5-minute walk to the domestic terminals, carparks P1 and P2 are for shorter domestic trips, or when dropping off or picking up passengers. Carpark P3 offers discounted rates and is for longer domestic trips. A free shuttle bus operates from P1, P2 and P3.
International passengers use carparks P7 and P9, both of which are adjacent to the International Terminal.
